Senior VFX Artist (Permanent)

Location: Remote (within UK)
Salary: Negotiable DoE
Type: Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Create and collaborate on high quality, optimized VFX assets across a range of projects with different technical requirements.
  • With a focus on solutions, problem solve technical and artistic challenges relating to VFX production and integration.
  • Keep up to date with emerging tools and workflows in real-time VFX and share this knowledge with the team.
  • Assist with the research and development of new workflows and tools used to increase the efficiency and quality of our VFX services.
  • Attend internal and external meetings with project stakeholders where required.
  • Assist in providing task estimates across the team and logging your own time against project tasks.
  • Train and mentor other members of the team to heighten the skill level of the VFX team.
  • Provide support with art direction and quality assurance of VFX work produced by the team.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Clear and professional communication skills paired with the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Impressive portfolio demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of real-time VFX production.
  • Strong understanding of art fundamentals, including color theory, lighting, and composition.
  • Proficient using Houdini to create VFX work.
  • Adept with Fluid FX and Weather Systems.
  • Proficient in workflows used to create both realistic and stylized VFX.
  • Demonstrable experience of mentoring and coaching junior team members, and conducting peer review sessions.


Desirable Skills:

  • Comfortable using Blender to create 3D content, or willing to adopt Blender within this role (training time will be provided).
  • Comfortable using both Unity & Unreal Engine.
  • Experience writing shaders (HLSL coding).
  • Programming and/ or Scripting Knowledge
  • 2D VFX/ Animation experience a plus.

VFX Artist (3-6 Month Contract)

Location: Remote (UK & Europe)
Salary: Negotiable DoE
Type: 3-6 Month Contract

Responsibilities:

  • Create and collaborate on high quality, optimized VFX assets across a range of projects with different technical requirements.
  • Develop complex simulations, including fluid, smoke, fire, and other particle effects.
  • With a focus on solutions, problem solve technical and artistic challenges relating to VFX production and integration.
  • Attend internal and external meetings with project stakeholders where required.
  • Provide task estimates for your assigned tasks and log your time against them.
  • Maintain and update VFX documentation and workflows.


Requirements:

  • Professional experience creating and integrating real-time VFX for games.
  • Proficient in industry-standard tools such as Unreal Engine, Houdini, and Niagara.
  • An impressive portfolio demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of real-time VFX production.
  • Clear and professional communication skills paired with the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • A strong understanding of art fundamentals, including colour theory, lighting, and composition.


Desirable Skills:

  • A varied portfolio showcasing both realistic and stylised capabilities.
  • Experience with shader development and scripting languages like Python and HLSL.
  • Comfortable using Blender to create 3D content.
  • Knowledge of additional real-time engines such as Unity, CryEngine or Godot.
